Projects for the Story Development Workshop in Tbilisi have been selected

B2B Doc Workshop

The B2B Doc Story Development Workshop will bring together a total of 12 film projects from Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.

The selected film projects are all in development or at an early production stage. This will be the first workshop the filmmakers are participating in with these projects and it will determine what kind of support B2B Doc will provide for them until the films are completed.

24 filmmakers will work during four days under the guidance of B2B Doc’s tutors: Anastasia Kirillova, Monika Franczak, Uldis Cekulis, Salome Jashi and Anna Eborn. All tutors involved in B2B Doc are active filmmakers with strong professional records.

The task is to look at the international potential of each film project and provide support to connect them to international co-production partners, production funds and distributors in Europe. This will be accomplished by strengthening the dramaturgical content of each film project, working out the audiovisual language for future filming, adjust it to the demands of the international film market, but at the same time strengthen the unique creative vision of the filmmakers.

Almost all film projects are touching very important issues of the societies where the filmmakers are coming from. They cover human rights issues on a broader scale, ongoing wars, as well as freedom and democracy. This is why finding a unique storytelling approach and cinematic language is extremely important for the filmmakers, to make their future films recognisable for the vast international audiences.
