War and Peace between two Seas

The B2B Doc project "War and Peace between two Seas" started off in late November with a workshop in Frankfurt an der Oder and Slubice for filmmakers from conflict regions who work on film projects covering wars and conflicts.

The following filmmakers were invited:

The topics discussed are the historical and political roots of the contemporary conflicts in Eastern Europe, how documentary filmmakers can escalate the conflicts or calm them down and what ways there are to reconciliation, and how documentary filmmakers can affect this process in the long run.
The following experts from Poland, Germany, Ukraine and Sweden spent three days with the filmmakers: Maciej Hamela, Hanna Polak, Werner Benecke, Marika Griehsel, Anna Dick, Evgenia Kriegsheim with Malcolm Dixelius moderating.

The workshop was arranged by B2B Doc's Alex Shiriaieff in collaboration with Kharkiv Meet Docs, Sakdoc Film, Viadrina University and with support from the Swedish Institute.
